How does a person released from prison travel home?

Hi, it's me again. Can anyone tell me how a person who is released from prison to extended supervision travels home? I know how they get to prison, that's written in the state statutes, but I cannot find any info on how they leave/get home again. Would they need someone to pick them up at a bus station or something? Thank you very much for your help!

It varies. Some states give them a bus ticket (Nevada does, I think). In Oregon, they are given some money plus whatever they have in their personal canteen fund. I think it's around a hundred bucks, but I'm not sure. It's not in a state law, it's just a matter of policy so the info isn't accessible to the public
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

In Texas they allow someone to arrive early to pick up the parolee. If they are not there on time they will be taken to the bus station. In some situations Parole Officers will transport the parolee.
