What happens in a real situaton like this?

Hello.I m a new user in this forum.
I decided to post my question in here cause i need help.
I m writing a comic book. This book is a story of a kidnapping and i want to know if what i thought is correct,i mean if this would be like that in real life.
To be more specific.Someone kidnapps a very rich woman. So the victims father calls the police. Now,i ve made the story as following. Two policemen in civilian clothes go to the house to talk with the father, ask him questions and give him advice about what he should do when the kidnapper calls. Is that right?Would this happen like that in real life??Or the police uses something else in a situation like this?It s just a comic book but i don t want to make something wrong in it.I ll be waiting for your answers. Thanks

If you're writing a book, comic, screenplay, etc, please post these sort of questions in our Writer's Questions sub-forum. Thanks.

Also, and I'm just throwing this out there, you might want to go to our New Member Introductions forum and post a thread telling us a little more about yourself.
