If so, what kind?
If so, what kind?
I don't know any who carry one as a primary duty weapon but it is not uncommon to see them used as backups...
Not sure on the kinds, something small and easily concealble I'd imagine

I'm a plain-clothes investigator and carry a revolver occasionally (.38 cal). More often I carry a full sized Sig .40 cal or "baby Glock." As far as uniformed patrol/traffic cops, I've known some to carry a revolver as a back-up (i.e. additional) gun but not as their primary/only gun.
Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice.
My new hero!
People on my old department can't any longer if they wanted to. I don't think I've seen any other police carrying a revolver as a primary weapon in years.
I was always taught to respect my elders, but it keeps getting harder to find one.
My Little Buddy
There are now just under 200 NYPD Officers still authorized to carry revolvers. :-)
Ocean City MD seasonal officers carry revolvers.
My department has been dragged into the modern day finally and rolled out the S&W .40 M&P.
We were using the .38 S&W Model 10.
There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.
We're here to save your butt, not kiss it
We have one guy left who carries a S&W model 66.

They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction, those bastards wont get away this time
An amateur will train until they get it right. A professional will train until they can't get it wrong.
If Norm was the Chief , we would ALL be carrying them.
Our dept made the change from revolver to autoloaders in the mid 80's. Many moons ago I carried a five shot Chief's Special off duty and as a back up then switched over to an auto there too.
We had a motor officer who carried a wheel gun until the day of the policy made autos mandatory. I stopped by his house once and he met me at the door wearing shorts and a Desert Eagle. He was a cowboy.
Ahh the good old days.
Thanks everybody for sharing your experiences.
I don't know of anyone. Our department requires us to carry a Glock 22 as standard issue.
