    Logic problem for supervisors...

You are an army lieutenant in charge of a detail consisting of a sergeant and eight soldiers. Your task is to install a flagpole in the exact center of a pea gravel pit. Close isn't good enough - the flagpole must be precisely in the center of the circle.

The flagpole is 30 feet in length, fourteen inches in circumference, and when you install it the top must be precisely 22 feet, 10 inches above the ground. The pea gravel pit is perfectly round and has a diameter of 32 feet, 6 inches.

In order to accomplish this task you have been given three shovels (all of which are exactly four feet in length), a post-hole digger (five feet, eight inches in length), a lensatic compass, two 42-foot lengths of rope, one 48-foot length of rope, and twelve tent pegs which are each six inches in length.

    What do you do?

Tell your Sgt. to get to work on getting the flag pole put up in the middle of the circle and go get some coffee.

The army Lt. out ranks the Sgt., so you give the sgt. orders to put up the flag.:D

    Call the Capt.
Never take responsibility for anything you can dump on a supervisor.:p
On a clear night, I can see the other deputies emergency lights at least 10 miles away.
But it isnt flat here LOL

Just stick the damn pole in to the required height, and move the pea gravel around until it's centered by using the ropes to measure out the distance from the pole. Done.
I used to care. Now I take a pill for that.

Go to home depot and get a pulb bob, a level, and some chalk line. If you do that and still can't figure it out, then your not high enough in rank promotions exist to remove unproductive people from the productive flow. If your subordinates understand how to use the above items then you are beyond a supervisor, having made a successful budget decision. Turn in your reciepts and move on to the next grade.

Look at the date. The flag pole has been up for about a year now.:D
