I agree with Oscarmitre.

Simply because I am a SECURITY supervisor instead of a LE supervisor doesn't mean that I may not have a valid idea or course of action to suggest. By the same token, some ideas may be useful in my job, but I would not have considered it because I had no experience with it. I understand why many LEOs may be skittish about talking about certain issues, but this is a supervisory category, not tactics or procedures that can be used to evade arrest.

Please do not remove what could be a valuable forum on the off-chance that something sensitive may be discussed. If it does occur, it can easily be moved into a protected area. I joined this site because it is comprised of law enforcement and civilian personnel. Although I have had issue with some responses to various topics, most participants tend to be more respectful and thoughtful than those I encountered on other sites.

Okay in plain English I'm trying to say that managing people is the same in most jobs.

Honestly, I think the "Managing" of people is for the old guard... or assembly line type positions... Where you say what to do and that's it. Push this button for this, push that button and pull this lever when this happens, etc etc...

Our Job is more of a Leader role, where you give the desired outcome, but leave the process up to the Person performing the Job. Our "Direction" of personel would be more of advising legal and moral means of achieving the outcome, and Leading by example.

Though I am fairly confident my zeroing in on the term "Managing" by Oscar was read into a bit

We trust the mods to keep everyone in line including us coppers and retired coppers, why not let them join the verified sections?
