How long you been in Security does your state pay well?

Me around 5 years all together, I have noticed the pay here in Florida isn't really that good.. Compared to where i'm from In Connecticut.. Here it's like 9.00 an hour sometimes, and I mean somethings you get 11.00 an hour.. Up north it's hire paid, my cousin J.r does security for a major community college and he's making close to 70,000 a year now... just depends where you go, if you go federal then you get top pay like working for USCIS security now they pay around 20.00 and plus an hour... Canada where my wife and daughter are from wow they pay top dollar! Toronto starts officers at around 15.00 an hour I hear a place called Paladin security pays some chunky change I work for a company thats branched out of CIS and I work for a smaller company that pays me more been here for almost 3 years... How is the pay of security in your state.. Take care my security brothers and sisters.

In Washington State it varies between $9.00/hr and around $25.00/hr

Most regular security guard jobs for contract companies where you are performing general "Observe and Report" duties pay from 9/hr to usually around 11/hr.

There are then some security positions that require more experience (Airport Security, College Security, Hospital Security, Transit Security, etc...), or may be Armed Security. These will pay usually between $12/hr to $20/hr.

The highest end of the spectrum is generally Armed Security for Federal buildings. These guys typically make anywhere between $22-25/hr.

If you're in Florida, I suggest you obtain both your D and G cards, you may find more higher paying opportunities with the G-card.

In southern Illinois, we are very rural so good paying jobs are scarce to begin with and security guard work is better than min wage around here. So most likely, guards will get anywhere from 9.00 to 10.50 a hour. I make somewhere in between that but I have worked other contracts that paid be 11.00 and 13.00. I worked one contract at a nuclear facility and got $11.00 an hour and 80 hours a week, it was a labor strike and we were their for survillence, it was easy money...

Most of the time its crap pay even with armed security... they wanted me once to work a night time east st louis job (unarmed) for 9 and hour, I told them the shove it and laughed out loud... east st louis is not a place to even drive through without some sort of gun haha

The pay rate in Michigan sucks. Depending on the company, it can vary from minimum wage on up to around $11.00 an hour. That's for unarmed. Armed pays more, but armed jobs are scarce around here.
