To start off I'm 25 and currently in my second attempt to join Law Enforcement. I own and operate my own very small locksmithing/contracting company that specializes in forclosed homes in the least popular niehborhoods in LA including watts compton, east la etc, I do around 50 sherrif lockouts a year half the court sherrifs know me by now. I know a lot about high speed entry and home
security/breaking and entering and I'm hoping this is going to give me a leg up in the hiring process.
I first attempted to join a small police dept in my home town, I passed the written, physical but did not pass my oral board this was possibly due to the large number of applicants (including some lateral hire sherrifs) and only having 2 open positions. I passed the LAPD PQE (written) test with an 85 and am currently waiting on my Backround Investigation to start in late december.
I have to say this is an excellent forum with a wealth knowledge and mentors I am very happy to find that I plan to use to do my very best to enter in LE. If theres anyone trying to join LAPD or LASD feel free to say hi I'm looking for anyone thats been there and done it before me.
