Happened upon this site a while back and have used it (mainly the Ask-a Cop) section to entertain myself and gain insight on various topics.
Made the jump to an actual member vs. lurker.
Just a late thirties guy with questions and looking for advice from time to time. Love camping/hiking/backpacking and have managed to raise a couple kids (all credit should go to my wife) that are gearing up to leave the nest soon enough.
Beginning to look at other career choices that may fall in line with civil service and police work. I will continue to lurk until I have enough information to formulate some basic questions.
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

Do you like long walks on the beach too? Just kidding. Welcome!
As a matter of fact yes, I do. ;)
I think I was putting that in there to give folks a general feel for my state of health. In the back of my mind I can't help but question my sanity for thinking about switching over to a more physical career at this point in my life. Or at least one that has a bit more potential than Network Guru.
Somehow though I would like to think that now, more than ever a technical background may be helpful in certain types of Police work.
