Marco Rubio brilliant speech on debt problems

Found this one on FB and wanted to share here. It's about 14 minutes, so make sure you've got the time to watch it fully, because Sen. Rubio is absolutely spot on in this speech! Sen. Kerry from Mass. attempts to take him off track, but the Freshman comes back and slaps him down!

The only thing with passing laws about Congress, is that it's Congress who has to write and vote on them.

While it is easy to blame the elected representatives, when it comes down to it, every single one of them was elected by the majority of voting citizens in their district. Some, multiple times, despite obviously having the leadership and reasoning ability of a lobotomized bovine, and the integrity of a....well, POLITICIAN (can't think of anything with a greater lack of integrity, so might as well go with it).

People complain about the candidates, and yet, how many are willing to stand up and run for office? Most people won't even VOTE, let alone run. So what do "we" get for our apathy? Exactly what "we" deserve, and what "we" have today. The irresponsible and apathetic individuals in congress, more concerned about their own personal benefit than the nation as a whole, are a direct reflection of the irresponsible and apathetic individuals who got them elected in the first place, either directly or through omission.

Most "regular" people don't have the money, inclination or wherewithal to run for office. And why would they? To be grouped and categorized as one of "those people" who are sent to Capitol Hill? Most "regular" people are not comfortable with the art of negotiation or reaching a point where they feel they are trading off their ideals to get something not as evil as what is being bickered over.

There's a reason they have degrees in Political Science.
