    GOP Nominee in 2012?

I know it's a little early but Palin has already indicated she is running.

There are a bunch that ran in 2008 that will be around again. Huckabee, Romney, and Palin. I have heard Marco Rubio being talked about but he seems too young. I think Americans have seen the problems with a young, untested politician with no executive experience in Obama. I am thinking the GOP will have a better chance with someone older and more seasoned. Maybe Jeb Bush or Haley Barbour?

Any predictions? Or who would you like to see go up against Obama?

I would prefer to see Mitt Romney as our next president, however, I will support damn near anyone else against the foolish youngster.

No disrespect meant to Cat_Doc, but Mitt reminds me of the manager of a sleazy used car lot. Politically I'm pretty in line with McCain, but he's too old to go another round (and his defeat last time wouldn't help his cause if he were younger).

Personally, I'd like to see John Boehner or Newt Gingrich run. Boehner isn't gonna happen since he just picked up Speaker, but having heard Gingrich speak for a couple hours in person I think he's sharp enough and with a decent amount of charisma (not in the since of being seen as a "messiah" like one previous candidate, but certainly more than some candidates who did fairly strong in previous races, like Kerry or Gore) to do well in the race.

Additionally, if she were looking to run (and I don't think she is) I believe Condi Rice would bring a wealth of wisdom from experience to the Oval Office that would do the country well.

I like Romney too. Rich wants no part of it and I think Gingrich is too polarizing. Palin needs to stay home, she's a continual brunt of jokes and doesn't see it. I really don't know much about Boehner.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

The only thing I like about Palin is that she doesn't know jack crap about politics and she doesn't put out to be a genius.

All of these other career politicians keep getting into office and f'n everything up for the rest of us. I would like Palin even more if she had never been in any public office. She is the only candidate I have seen so far that I can relate to in any way. The rest seem to be the rich elite who promise you one thing and have their hand in your pocket the whole time.

I would personally like to see Ted Poe out of Texas or Jim Jordan out of Ohio.

I think Newt has a good shot at the nomination. He has certainly been " out and about " lately.

Palin is too much of a " celebrity".

I would need to know more about Boehner.

    I LIKE Huckabee.

I would love to see Newt run. Nice guy and very smart but he has too much baggage.

I predict big things for Bobby Jindal.

Palin is an idiot. Would someone please put her back in her box.

I predict big things for Jindal too. He just needs to work on presentation a little more. I don't know if you saw it, but he did the Republican response to Obama's first major address...maybe it was the State of the Union, and I kept hoping he'd show Obama up with his overwhelming common sense about how the world works, but he fell kinda flat in the charisma department. He interviews pretty well but that was meant to be his coming out party and unfortunately he didn't charm as many people as I'd hoped. It was probably hard to compete with O's charisma that night....that is one thing O has.

Palin did a lousy job of handling that Alaska trooper incident and ended up resigning as governor. If she can't deal with something like that, I doubt she would do very well as president where the heat is a lot stronger.

I agree with all three statements. They're going to dig up all sorts of crap on him and unlike a Democrat, he won't get a free ride on any of it.

I think Newt is one of the biggest visionaries of all the politicians.....he has a good handle on all the important stuff...but I agree his negatives are too high. Plus he's a straight shooter. People don't seem to be ready for that yet. They still like being told what they wanna hear, and handed candy.

The problem is for both parties is the candidate has to appeal to the far side of their party to get nominated and then move to the center to be elected. That's why I think Romney would be more electable if he got the nomination, but he's not right wing enough to get that far.
