Ahh, I'm sure you still secretly think calling Obama's speech about "the importance of persisting and succeeding in school" a socialist indoctrination program someway or another.
Obama: "We've replaced the planned socialist indoctrination propaganda with a well-reasoned, encouraging, and common sense speech. Let's see if anyone notices! Muahahaha!"

I dig the cartoon avatar. Fits well.

One can only be so Open Minded before all that mind **** spills out, stains and ruins everything.
As my children are now finished HS, I'm not sure if the schools here in my district played the speech or not.
Had this been my son's last year and the district did show the speech, I would have had my son opt out from participating.

I don't have to make that decision for my son - it's a discussion we've already had. My son does NOT like President Obama or anything he stands for. I'm very close with my children and they don't hesitate to talk to me about any kind of issue. So, if he had been in school, my son would NOT have watched Obama's speech.
And no, I didn't read the speech. I have no interest it.

I did not read the speech but I did read the lesson plan which was posted on the Department of Education website. If my kids were older, I would have allowed them to see the speech only if they allowed for the students to comment as part of the program. I had some major disagreements with it and would not have issue with anyone not allowing their kid to view it.
I didn't have any children with Laura Bush so I couldn't give a crap less if she approves or not. That's a decision I make as a parent and I'm not influenced by who approves the message. There are plenty of other times I disagreed with the Bush family.

By the way, if you want to know the reason I didn't read the speech.....
This was Obama's 261st speech in the 231 days he has spent in office. I really have no interest in what he is saying anymore as I don't trust him. He just finds a new way to lie every time he opens his pie hole.
Kind of makes you wonder who is running the country while he's out campaigning.

Better yet....why is he talking to the guys in grade school when there isn't even any work for those who graduate from college

In all fairness, from what I've heard about the indoctrination speech, it was vastly pared down from the original "How can I serve Obama" lesson plan.
I think the kids that Michael Vick talked to got a better and more honest lesson, with a better message.
