I often like to compare my (Canada's) CJS to that of the USA's. So americans, tell me what these morons would get in your state or if you can think of what the outcomes were of a similar case.

5-15 years. If prior record, or racially motivated, enhance it. Combination of Agg assault w. deadly weapon, and the drugs. We'd put all his laughing buddies behind the camera in jail too.(I love living in Texas:D) a good prosecutor would have no problem with this case.

If their first offense, probably the following:
120 days in custody of the Sheriff, suspended. 12 months unsupervised probation, 36 hours of community service, acquire a substance abuse assessment and abide by all terms and treatment set forth by the assessment. Do not assault any homeless person or violate any law while on probation.
