Jean Reno is in an excellent French film called "Crimson Rivers" (I saw it on dvd so I know it's available) it's about an investigation into some bizarre murders in a university town in the Pyrenees, it's also interesting from a police point of view because you get to see the differences between the Gendarmerie and the Police and how they operate. It's pretty gory in parts though.
