Is it possible Jeb Bush may take a stab at it?

in 08, I don't think he would, nor would be able to.

Rudy already stated he is not going to run for president and I don't think McCain is thinking about it either. I believe Jeb is going to be the next republican presidential candidate. He is bright, loved by the people that he is head of and can win all the red states including Florida and can put a hit on a few blue states as well. It all depends on how his brother does the next few years. As for the Democrats, unless they find someone new, their hopes are going nowhere. The only dem that might have a shot at winning the presidency in the future is Obama. I have heard him speak and he is a brilliant guy with lots of enthusiasm. Still wouldn't vote for him but he is their lone shining up and coming star.

-Jeb Bush has already said he will not run for president. So count him out.
-Rudy has never said he won't. He is always asked on TV and just replies "I'm just working on getting Bush four more years" If he does run, he won't get the nomination IMO, Republicans will never nominate a pro choice candidate for President. He is way too liberal for most Republicans
-Highly doubtful Powell will ever run
-Hillary still has to win re-election for the Senate in 2006. Pataki might run against her and that would be a race. If she loses, she's done. Dems love her but that doesn't mean the whole country will.
-Article I posted earlier brought up a good point about Condi. She may take Powell's place at the State Dept or Cheney may bow out of VP and she would take that spot. If she takes the VP spot expect her to run for President.
-Obama won't be running in 2008, waaaay to young a senator. But he is a definite rising star
-People keep mentioning Edwards for '08 and I can't figure out why. He now has zero political position, he lost his home states (SC and NC) and losing VP candidates don't ever do well (Lieberman, Kemp, Dole, Gore, etc.).
-Bill Richardson, (D) Governor of NM is one to watch. Pretty centrist, former Clinton Energy Sec and from a southwestern state. Same for Bill Owens (R) Governor of Colorado.
-There are tons of other names I've seen floated around: Vilsack, Biden, Frist, Romney. Hell pretty much every US Senator wants to be President and about half the Governors. Needless to say the '08 primaries will be hella fun to watch.

Hillary Clinton I don't see of having a shot, if the Dem's want any kind of a chance. She might go over well on the coasts but Middle America no way.

Rudy stated on election night at about 3a.m. when they were talking about if Kerry should call it quits, and Rudy said that he will not run for president because he is doing too well at the moment at his consulting firm.

I don't know about that. I heard some city council in North Carolina is voting for a new minute taker at their local meetings. The only problem is that it is voted on every 8 years and Bob Deerfield has had the position for the past 88 years. Edwards all the way baby and he also found out that Bob turned on America after fighting for two months in the War of 1812. I think he has a shot.

Since I live and work within a few miles of these folks...I will tell you both are openly saying they are "keeping teh options open." Nobody has said no. Hilalry has more $ and more power than Rice right now....between the contacts and her -ex.

I think it will be Rudy vs. Hillary....

Rudy is a long shot for the nomination, unless there is a major shift among conservative voters. Bush was re-elected because the conservative base came out for him because of moral values, the main ones being abortion and opposition to gay marriage. I don't see that same base coming out for a very liberal former mayor of NYC.

Now I like Rudy but the conservative voters that voted in droves for Bush aren't going to do that for Rudy. This is the guy that told his wife in a press conference that he was splitting on her for another woman. Compare that to GWB and Laura.

Just saying "Hilary" makes me shudder. Against Powel, Rice or Rudy she wouldn't stand much of a chance. Unfortunately she will get a lot of women's votes simply because she's a woman. But no true feminist will vote for Hilary, a woman who's made her political career out of letting men walk all over her. Any woman with any common sense, self-esteem and balls would have divorced Bill after the first time he was caught with his hands up the secretary/intern/whoever's skirt. But noooo, Hilary had to pull that "stand by your man" crap- that is sooo 1820's. That girl needs to grow a sack.

The thing with Rudy Giuliani is because of his impressive track record as mayor, his support transcends both moderates and conservatives.

Rudy probably will not run against Hillary if he is eyeing the 2008 nomination. If he wins, he can't campaign for President after promising to serve the voters of NY for 6 years. And if he loses, he's out of the picture for the nomination.

New York has a decent chance of being the home state of the next President.
