Yes, I don't like the illegal aliens coming over here and then suing people for things either. I also hate when people call them 'undocumented workers'. That's like calling a heroin dealer an 'undocumented pharmacist!"
I guess also that part of my confusion lies with the title of this thread "Miranda rights for TERRORISTS" So if you were truly curious about someone from another country (say Canada or England) getting arrested in a bar fight then perhaps you should have titled the thread differently. Hence, where alot of my confusion came in to play!!!!!! Terrorism -vs- someone from another country getting into a bar fight are two very different things, to me anyway !!!!!

All I have to say is miranda rights and terrorist in the same sentence is a damn shame talk about an oxymoron.:mad::mad:

Do you really think that our National Guard, and the rest of our Armed Forces would do this? (Scarry to add that I am serious in asking this)

I personally do not see the NG doing this, but then again, I am a little niave some times.

    Obama's decisions are very questionable.

By granting the rights of a U. S. Citizen to terrorists, it results in the necessity for a civilian trial, that he wants to take place in the United States rather than Guantanamo. Obama is apparently in the process of requesting $200,000,000 as his administration's estimate for the cost of this trial. The entire cost of the Oklahoma City bombing investigation and prosecution had hit $82,000,000 as of 12/31/1997. McVeigh's defense was estimated to have cost $13,000,000 to U. S. taxpayers. Some politicians have already pointed out that we should be spending U. S. tax dollars on protecting U. S. citizens not paying for attorneys to represent terrorists. Chevyssp sounds pretty enlightened and on top of things to me. It should be noted that Eric Holder, the current Attorney General of the United States, was the individual at the Department of Justice who recommended Bill Clinton granting a pardon the the convicted FALN terrorists, which Clinton did at the end of his second term. The convicted bombers / murderers returned to Puerto Rico after their release. I suspect that Holder has a soft spot for terrorists.

Knowing Holder's record, and the record of the Reno DOJ as a whole against terrorism cases, wouldn't surprise me at all. Better in their eyes to have a trial that leads to a conviction and bulletpoint on their resume than actually ensure national security.

    Eric Holder's Decision

I see that today's newspapers have articles in which Eric Holder is taking the responsibility for making the decision to prosecute terrorists in civilian criminal courts rather than in military trials. He is basically claiming that no law enforcement officials told him that this would be a problem. Looks like some of the Law Enforcement Agency Leaders need to speak up and say they did not agree or start speaking up in the future to prevent this from happening again.

"B.S.", they are not American Citizens and have "NO" rights under our laws. Terrorists, should be tried by a Military Court and upon a "VERDICT OF GUILTY", SHOULD BE TAKEN OUTSIDE AND SHOT!!!!! End of Discussion!!!!!

Thats what happens when you as, chief LE officer, fail to be proactive and communicate with the troops in the field. How can anyone locked in a room drinking the Kool-Aid our socialist President is serving up. Hard to know what is going on when you refuse to ask questions and refuse to listen to the Americans. This administration lost Massachusetts and NJ and they still don't listen.

I'm not an American citizen, but to be honest, I don't understand this discussion.
If I would visit the USA and steal some groceries, I would be tried by a military court and get no miranda warning?

Why is it that those delusional criminals get so much attention?
They are not part of an army (not talking about some self proclaimed army, but a branch of foreign government) or anything...

Granted, Germany didn't have its share of terrorist attacks lately, but we had them in the 70's (for example Red Army Faction - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) and some attempted ( BBC NEWS | Europe | 'Germany's 9/11' plot trial opens ).
All those criminals were treated like for what they were/ are... Criminals.
They get their cautionings, their lawyers and everything.

Please don't take this the wrong way! I really am just curious whats all the hysteria is all about...
We don't have the option that one person (aka the President) can declare war on a bunch of people who happen to hate our country/ government (and believe you me, we do have A LOT of them), but why not just try them in a civil court, give them all the rights any American would get and just let those civil judges convict them.

Again: I don't understand your legal system as much as I want to, but are military trials more safe or more likely to convict someone?
    I don't get it...

Please don't flame me. Just enlighten me
