Question In field show up. How far away do you park your vehicle ?

this is for Police, Highway Patrol and Sherrif Dept. When you take a witnesss in your patrol car and he/she is in the back seat to go view a suspect being detained by another patrol officer, on a dark street at 2200 hrs for example, how close do you get your vehicle to view the suspect in an IN FIELD SHOW UP ?
You don't want to allow the suspect to be able to view the witness in your vehicle, even though you have the suspect illuminated with your side spotlights and high beams, therefore what would be the acceptable distance from where the witness is (in your patrol vehicle) and to where the suspect is standing with another officer in the middle of a dark street for example ?? My buddy says 25 feet is appropriate , I say that is too close ! What does your training say ?????
