Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

Not offered in the academy here, but there are off-duty classes you can take to get an idea of how to understand it a bit better, for example the guys in the car during the traffic stop. We concentrated on specific things to listen for and say as a law enforcement officer. Great class, our instructor was originally from Spain! Unfortunately, if you don't practice it, it fades over time. I remember quite a bit, tho, and I think the funniest thing we learned was that the word for "handcuffs" and "wife" was exactly the same - esposa! (I know that probably isn't spelled right...)
Our instructor said if you didn't have the rifle like Switch talked about, just swinging your cuffs (esposa) around on your finger and saying "arrestado" usually made them learn some English pretty quick.

One hopes there is a special place in Hell for the evil people who make, trade, and possess child pornography. Until they get there, we are committed to putting them in jail. -- David Procopio, Massachusetts State Police
