Started the process back in August and its finally about time to get started with the rest of my life! I graduated from college with a degree in CJ in may and then started this long process in August. My city hired 24 cadets so we will be getting paid while we are in the academy, I basically just wanted to know more about the academic side of the academy. How will it compare to college work and how are tests? For the physical we have been told we will be doing lots of running so i've been preparing for months for that part. The academic part I really have no idea, so any input would be appreciated. It's in Texas if that has any difference.

My academy class was just like going to college. EXCEPT the instructors made us sit at attention and yelled at us occasionally.

Maybe you can ask someone who's been at your particular academy... some academies are high-stress, others are more classroom oriented. I'm not a big fan of yelling and pushups, myself... at least I knew what to expect though.
