That's not good. This just sparks my curiosity as to how thick the windshields are on police cars and what was the weapon used to fire at the police officer able to penetrate through the glass to hit him? Maybe he didn't duck like the other officer did in the other scary video. Hope he was aided and taken care of.

Hm, when are they going to invent bulletproof on everything for the police vehicles? That would be awesome! Then I would have less to worry about the people I care about. Just kidding, I'd still worry about them and their safety.

Bullet proof cars are heavy and expensive and require a lot of maintainence to keep going with heavy use. We use a lot of them overseas and they weigh a lot. There is also a limited production capability for them right now. So much so that we order them and stockpile then for when we need them, rather than order them as we need them, with the resulting very long delays.

Ooh so it does exist! Cool. Thank you for answering my question. That sucks for the heavy weight but is there a way to make it less heavy?

There is a billion dollars to be made if you can figure out a way.

you can only have soo much protection. I was informed that a .223 round would have ouble penetating a windshield, unless it hit the same spot twce.

its hard to believe, but the guy who tought me was a retired ballistics investigator for the FBI, who investigated the FBI shootings that took place in FL. where 3 agents were killed.

Ugh, that makes me cringe. Last month, I went to a receptionist where international police officers get together and chat. There was one officer that I had met there, gosh, for the life of me I don't remember where he came from but I know it was within the States and he died when a car hit him on the interstate at night, when he had pulled over a speeder. It just gives me chills when I had just met an officer and he's gone. It makes me really, really sad.
