I just bought this for 30 bucks, does anyone have any info on it. Supposedly, it was used for one year (2003) by the WMD Unit in the NYPD. Anything else? I just started the hobby.

I've never seen that patch before. But then again, I'm no expert. The only thing I can say is that the ebay listing looks a little suspicious to me and I wouldn't have paid that amount of money for a patch that I knew nothing about/took someone's word about.

Sorry to let you know this but the patch not a departmental issue and is a patch made for collectors by Andrew Huntzman.He is a former NYPD cop who now lives in Chicago.He makes patches for the various units in the NYPD and other departments for collecting purposes only.Like i said ,not a patch worn by the NYPD but a collectible patch

CO 1669 is dead on. Never worn or issued or authorized. Additionally, the NYPD does not have a WMD unit. We have the bob squad, ESU and counter terrorism. NO WMD.
