Ok guys & gals......

Here's a couple questions.

# 1-how many patches do you have in your collection ? (I have apx 1,400)

# 2-what started you collecting & do you remember what your first patch was ? (me-career ending knee surgery/California Highway Patrol

# 3-how long have you been collecting ? (me...20 years & counting)

# 4-What is your favorite patch in your collection & why ?

# 5-what do you collect in the way of patches ?

2) Police Patches first was Michigan State Police Uniform Patch

4) My MSP 1st edition patch worn in 1917 and it is authentic.

5) Police, and local fire patches. Mainly Michigan, federal patches but will take about anything.

# 1- 42 (43 technically. i have a full and a minuature version of one patch).
I have 4 more on the way.

# 2- i've always been interested in police things but a friend of mine that I gained in the past year really got me more into police things and so I just sorta started up. He generally gets what I have extra of.
My first patch was the miniature Houston, TX patch.

# 3- I've had the mini one since like January or something but I really got more into collecting in February.

# 4- The METRO Police patch for Harris county. It's the one my friend gave me and call me dumb, but it holds special meaning because of that. Especially since he promised one to me, and when he found out he didn't have any extra, he ripped it off one of his old uniforms. lol. (and oddly, it has no frayed edges or anything. looks brand new other than the stained dirt on the word "police" lol)

# 5- Pretty much only cities in TX. If I have something other than a city, it's because it usually has a special meaning to me. I have an old harris county sheriff - because I live in Harris County, a dps highway patrol - I have a friend who is a state trooper (who actually just made sgt. woo!), a tx rangers dps 175th anniversary - because I just do, Houston Community College patch - because I went there, and then the METRO one because of my friend.
Crime Stoppers is supposed to release a patch soon here, which I do hope to get. One of my friends works there, well worked rather - he's transfering to a new division, and he said he'd get me one when he got one.

And I talk a lot. New rule, don't let me post at 12:45 at night. lol.

edit: one day i will be able to spell sheriff right on the first try.

1. About 20.

2. When people offer them to me, I take them.

3. About 20 years, so I'm not doing too well, am I?

4. I have one that my agency banned for being too politically incorrect and that was only produced in small numbers.

5. The only ones I won't give away are the ones from foreign countries I have worked in. The rest of them I pretty much give away to anyone who sees them on my bulletin board and asks for it. :D

i have 100 or so.....and i collect world wide and generally prefer to swap the patches in person.....

the only problem i had was in egypt.....i approached the copper thereand had a m16 levelled at me....needless to say i didnt get my patch!!

i like the alaskan patches....so bright and colourful, and anything with an eagle on it.

i only collect half heartedly, if and when i remember or see anything i like on ebay...lol

i prefer police patches, but iffen i like it ill either buy it or trade it

i have a special interest in one type of patch but i find them hard to come by over here in Aust.....native american patches.....i love em and have a heartfelt interest for a couple of reasons.....my partner is native american, and i have a strong belief in all they stand for and believe in.....so if you know where i can get hold of some....id be greatly interested!!

1. 273 (I can't take credit for all of them. I received 50 or so at one time from my Sarge when I left CA).

2. The first one was given to me during a ride along. I was working as a CSO.

4. I like them all!

5. I like k-9 patches the best. I also like any sheriff or police patch though.
