If you light gunpowder (like on the Road Runner cartoons), it doesn't explode?
Maybe it did "Flash" and they chose to use the word "explode" because it sounded cooler.

No Stump, if you light gunpowder with a match it burns very fast. To make it explode you have to enclose it in a tight enclosed area.

I just heard about this, terrible - I hope those people are ok... Media sometimes doesn't get the facts right , we all know that. Man I love Glocks

This happened about 3 years ago, but a couple of kids lit some gun powder in the basement of their home. They were so seriously injured that it was required they be air lifted to a trauma center. To my understanding (I talked to the boys father) the gun powder was not confined but layed out on the table. So maybe this incident was possible?
