best 5.11 tactical boots or similar

Well boots for work are officially fried after only 1 year of use, I work on my feet 5-7 days a week 10-12 hr shifts much like the rest of you. So I am looking for a water proof boot (since I am outside a lot during rain), with a decent height to the boot 8inch would be ideal. I would like the zippers on the side as that is the type of boot I like. Aboveall, they have to be comfortable!!!! I have a pair now that my feet ache when i get home after my shift and i cant stand it anymore. Looking for a boot around 70-100 dollars. Any help would be appreciated rep to the one I buy.

If your boots aren't thrashed, you just need new insoles. $20 for gel insoles from Sof Sole will have you feeling good again. Sof Sole guarantees the gel to not break down for a full year. These are the ones Sarge uses:

I would do away with the side zip kinds. Every pair I have had (2), the zippers broke within months of using the damn zipper. I have been wearing a pair of Danner's now for the past few years and they are VERY comfortable. I love them, but they are due for a replacement. I've actually wore the soles off them, and the leather is starting to peel off. I've had these for 3 years I think. I love them. They still feel great on my feet, just time to replace them.

I asked a guy who does our shoe repairs for honor guard, and he said that my kind are not repairable. It's the molded Danner Gor-Tex type. He said you can't resole them. I just checked Danner's website, and unfortunately my kind can't be Recrafted. :(

Honestly though, I love their boots and I'm going to buy another pair from them that can be recrafted. Will have to spend more money, but by god they are the best boots I have ever wore.

I'm not sure what kind I'm going to get. Mine still hold up, they just don't look professional anymore. Hell, just a couple weeks ago I was out on a crash scene walking down on the shoulder of the road where it recently rained. Sunk my boot down to my ankle in mud and ankle deep water.. Pulled my foot out, kicked it off, and feet were still dry and went the rest of the shift with them, with no problems. Like I said, they just look unprofessional now with the leather peeling off and the soles worn down to nothing. They still keep water out and I can stand on them for hours with no issues. I'd run with them off duty if it wasn't for the fact they are a bit heavy. I think their even more comfortable than my running shoes.

The only complaint I have with them now is since the sole has been worn down, I have lost traction when the surface I'm walking on is wet.

Mine broke too. The only ones that didn't were the 5.11, but then I didn't wear them for too long as they seem to narrow at the toe end.

HA!! Actually, I think personally it was poor quality boot. They felt ok, but the zipper felt like cheap plastic. Oddly enough, they were fairly exspensive boots. Bates was the company who made them.
