I purchased these boots about two weeks ago. I have spent the entire time wearing them for whatever I do (includes weekends). I work at a site (security) that is 25 acres of concrete, and some dirt. The dirt has glass, and other debris mixed in. I had been having a lot of lower back, foot, and knee pain. I walk for about four hours, and drive for about four hours. Most of the walking is on concrete, even when in buildings.
I have also done some running in these boots to make sure that I had a little experiance in all kinds of use.
I spent 110 dollars for the waterproof ones. And I have worn the 5.11 sox with the boots the entire time.
The boots broke in extremely fast, about a day. At no point was there pain associated with break in. The only problem is that before I zip them I have to poke my finger down the waterproof flap to make sure it is sitting properly. The Shock Mitigation System seemed a little bit like a gimmic, but has worked extremely well. No foot, knee, or backpain. That says somthing. I have compressed my lower spine as part of a old BMX injury, and a lot of boots make it tighten up. I have fealt "regular" since I got these boots. The ancle support is also very nice.
The side Zipper makes it easy to put the boots on tight enoughf. I basically just tie then zip. The moisture control system is adaquate. Best I have ever experianced.
The only thing I am unsure of is the hidden pockets on the sides. I feel that when I get on as a LEO I will probubly carry a knife in one, and a spare key to the cuff's if the other.
For the price, I would highly suggest these boots. If price were not an influance, I would still buy these boots.
