Question Longest lasting rechargable flashlight?(within reasonable price)

I would like to find a flashlight that has a long life with every charge/use, and holds a charge for a while of no use.

I would stick with MAGLITE if the batteries were free.

Do you have any opinions on something that fits the bill without breaking the bank?

    Thanks guys-

    Tim

I just got a MagLight with LED, which is a friggen blowtorch. Found it at Costco with batteries and a Mini Mag for about $30.

I can't help but believe those batteries would last longer.

Aside from that, everything depends on your bank.

I also bought a 2 pack of off brand steel "tactical" flashlights at Costco that use 3 AAA's each for $19. A Multipack of AAA's with 48 batteries cost about $10. I estimate that with heavy use, I may have to buy another Multipack in about 6 months, so I'll have a total of $40 invested in them over the course of a year.

Compare that with most of the lights I've seen that were around $100 + and you still have to replace the charger stick every 2 or 3 years, I don't think that is half bad.

I've got 2 Streamlight Rechargeable Stingers in the garage that both need batteries, but didn't throw light like these LED's do when they were new.

    Thank you Creeker,

I think LED is the way to go, I have the old maglites, great but something with less draw seems to be my best bet, not to mention when you couple that with the brightness.

Some excellent suggestions!!!!(I wonder if I'd still use the freezer trick if they lasted longer-LOl)

    Have a great weekend-

In time, all the batteries will discharge and eventually degrade in quality. Most big brand name light companies have something rechargeable that should work. What you should get depends on how you wanna use it, how bright you need it and what you consider "breaking the bank."
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.
