I have always wanted a small flashlight and I've looked at several and this seems to be good for the price. Anyone have any input?

I own several Surefire lights...but only 2 are LED's. I have an L6 Lumamax and the L4 Lumamax. Both give 100 lumens of light for about 1 1/2 hours with gradually fading light after that.
What I'm getting ready to do is to order the conversion so I can convert my
G2Z incandescent to an LED. What I like most about the LED's is that they will draw all the useable power from the batteries, in comparison to the incandescants which will just go dead once battery power falls below a certain threshold.

We were issued the Surefire G2 at FLETC. Works rather well, but can drain batteries quickly. Any field losses with be replaced with the Surefire LED version of the G2. So far I have only issued one, but have not gotten any feedback yet.
We use the Surefire V70 speed holster (polymer) for the flashlights. We had a tendency to melt the nylon ones.

Yeah....there's that, too. My L4 got activated in my thigh pocket accidentally last week.....
Not only did it pretty much kill a set of batteries prematurely......It burned like Hell before I knew what was going on......my leg was HOT!!!
The light was so hot I could hardly take it out of the pocket to let it cool.......:(
No complaints other than that.....:D

I use a Surefire 6P with a Malkoff drop in. 235 lumens for 1.5hrs (regulated) and a great beam pattern. I also use the blackhawk polymer holster. Its a tough combo to beat.

They are a hot commodity over at CandlePowerForums. A buddy of mine recently contacted Gene about building him a P7 SF drop in - can't wait to see that one.
Take a look in the LED section of CPF - for small LED lights, you really have a LOT to choose from... Btw, if you already have some P60/P90 based SF lights, I would probably go with an LED drop in (as opposed to buying a whole new light) as well. You also have a few decent drop ins to choose from too...
I was going top get a P7 from Gene but its straight flood with no throw :( Also you need to use an 18650 battery.
I believe the one Gene is making my buddy will be a direct drive off a 3.7 Li-Ion. Personally, I would love to see a P7 drop in with a driver capable of handling 2x 18650's. I would also love to see someone build one for a SF turbo head - I would have no problems drilling out the reflector to handle the larger LED. ;)
I am now convinced there truly is a forum for EVERYTHING...

OK here it goes.
A P7 is a type of LED. There are Q5's, R2's and dozens of others.
An 18650 is a type of rechargeable battery that doesn't fit the standard Surefire 6P body. It is the same length as two 123 lithiums but a bit fatter.
Most LED lights have a regulated output. What that means is that any voltage between 3.8 and 9.0volts (as an example) the output will be constant then after the voltage drops below 3.8 it will drop out of regulation and then you will lose output. Direct drive means there is no regualtion. This is unlike an incan. which is brightest when it has new batteries or pulled off the charger. Then it just gets dimmer as the batteries lose power.
A 6P and one of these http://www.malkoffdevices.com/shop2/...&products_id=7 is a great duty light. I love it.
