An 18650 is a type of rechargeable battery that doesn't fit the standard Surefire 6P body. It is the same length as two 123 lithiums but a bit fatter.

Most LED lights have a regulated output. What that means is that any voltage between 3.8 and 9.0volts (as an example) the output will be constant then after the voltage drops below 3.8 it will drop out of regulation and then you will lose output. Direct drive means there is no regualtion. This is unlike an incan. which is brightest when it has new batteries or pulled off the charger. Then it just gets dimmer as the batteries lose power.

A 6P and one of these http://www.malkoffdevices.com/shop2/...&products_id=7 is a great duty light. I love
    it.
While that does help me understand a little better I basically just want it to illuminate when I hit the switch lol
