Has anybody tried these Bates boots with the "Comfort system" thing?

I can't post a link to them, due to being a sub-15 poster, but they're the Delta 6/8 tactical boots with that little disc thingie in the sole of the insole.

I'm wondering if that's a gimmick, or if it is actually worth having. Anyone have any insight?

    I haven't tried them.

My Agency only issued lowest bid "Rocky's" which were far from waterproof, which was a major annoyance to me... especially for the 2 years that the run-off sewer in our parking lot was backed up and we were otherwise forced to either canoe or walk on slippery barely submerged boards to our Office in the Spring and Summer.

Anytime my boots wore out, I'd go get a chit for some new Rocky's, then go pick them up and that night buy my own Herman Survivor Commando boots from Walmart.

Say what you want about Walmart, those boots wouldn't leak until you wore the tread thru...

I have 3 or 4 brand new pair of Rocky's in the closet right now...

I have flat feet (over pronation) so my feet hurt easily.

I just prefer to wear gel insoles that I can slip into different shoes. Then, my cheapest crappy shoes and my expensive shoes all feel comfortable.

I wouldn't buy a shoe because it offers that. I did once, but it was promoted by Dr. Scholl's so it had an insert from that company.

These boots actually are fairly comfortable. Unfortunately they are not waterproof but they do offer a variety of support positions even for people who do not overpronate. I found those and other bates for a great price. Hope that helps.

I've never worn them, and I've never read a review of them. I will say this, though: The M-6 and M-9 Bates are arguably the best boot for the money. The sole is by Vibram, they call it the "Mutant" and it looks like an octopus tentable. They grip like a son-of-a-gun, allowing you o chase and turn on a dime. They are light, supportive, durable, and you'll find no 'hot spots' wearing them. They are all day comfort and a steal at around $80. The M-6's are six inchers and the 9's are 9's. I dont think they still make the 9 in black, but you can still find them from boot sellers on line.
