    Magnum Boot Question

If given a choice between a pair of Magnum Stealth II waterproof boots or Magnum Phantom V-lite boots, which is a better boot, particularly for warmer weather duty?

I am wearing the Phantom V-lite in Arizona. I haven't had any issues with them at all. I did not buy them until late July, however.

I have had mine for over a year and they are still going strong. I have to say that every couple of weeks I give them a break for a couple of days and use a pair of Nike boots. The magnums are comfortable and do the job even in colder weather here in the Northeast

I love my Stealth II boots. Those are my range boots and I have been very pleased with the product.

I've owned 3 pair of Magnums. I now have Rocky. Rocky kills my foot for some reason. Only probem I had was the zipper on the Stealth II. I'll stick to tying from now on. It all depends on the person too for the zipper. Bigger=no zipper. Smaller=zipper is fine.

If you're in a hot climate my advice is stay away from wa
terproof membranes like Sympatex etc. It'll sweat ya!... I wear standard Stealth's most of the year here in Ireland. I have a pair of waterproof Elite's for wet conditions, and a pair of lightweight Amazon's for the summer.

All very comfortable. The soles are not very durable though. I notice from driving all the time that the right one's got like 3 times the wear of the left... No complaints otherwise though. ( some of the names of the magnums I mentioned may not be familiar to you as some of the styles are marketed under different names in Europe.... Hey, do you have to have a hard toe?)

Bottom line, hot weather, go for the lighter boot (& some technical socks too)

I would go with thenv-lites just due to the zipper problem with the stealths. Magnum has done a lot to solve this problem recently but I would stick with laceups or even try a new brand such as bates. Just a helpful hint also, I have found some great prices at policefeet.com.

I have a pair of the Spiders and they rock. Nice and lite, very "airy" - my feet keep cool. I'm a complete boot-*****. The Marcos of boots. These boots are among the better I've owner. The stitching has held up over the past 12 months, and the soles show no wear at all. I wore heavy socks in winter and had no problems with cold, and the soles didn't freeze rock hard, so the traction stayed good on ice.

So many patrol boots are trying to act like shoes. Bates Falcons, Nike, and Adidas GSG9, COnverse has three models, and everyone knows the Oakleys. These Spiders are light and perform like a running shoe, but give good ankle support.
