    Safariland RLS weapon mounted light

Wanted to get some feedback before buying this product. No dealers in my area carry them. Wondering if anyone has handled one of these new lighting systems or has experience with them...........

I ordered one a week or so ago, just the mount - no light. Unfortunately, the place I ordered from said it won't be in until after New Year's...

There was a demo model mounted to a glock 17 (I think). For my shooting grip (both thumbs forward) it felt really really good (don't have to readjust my grip or anything). I currently have a modded TLR-1 mounted on a Tick mount for my 92FS and I'm not real crazy about how it feels (have to move my hands/fingers more to use the light).

I didn't order the Safariland light because there are much better lights out there - however, if none of my lights feel or fit as good as the stock one, I may end up buying and modding it.

I'm hoping everything will fit just right on a M9A1...

Thanks Samuel......another quick question then since you have used one......is the transition from the holster, applying the mount and coming up on target pretty easy or was the mount you tried already on the weapon. I think with my grip, both thumbs forward also, the placement to get a quick shot off is my BIG question

Sorry JW, the one I played with was on a display shelf, attached with a security leash, no holster (and I was in civvies). From what I understand, the light clips to your belt (or somewhere around there) - when you need it, you'll draw your weapon, unclip the light/mount, slide it onto your rail, and then rotate the light up on either side (L or R) to secure it into place on the rail.

I probably wouldn't be trying to put the light onto my weapon if I was "in a hurry" (but I would practice doing so until I was smooth and could do it by feel). I would probably keep it in my off hand like any other small tac light until I had time to put it on.
