Anyone own a pair of 5.11 Strike boots?

So I found a website that has these for sale for only $20! And free shipping :eek:

I know you get what you pay for, I was just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with these?

I haven't owned a pair of 5.11's, but I have only heard bad things. Get a pair of Danners. They'll last forever and can be re-soled.

I swear by my 5-11 pants. But the last pair of boots from them wore out too quick.

I have gone through 2 pairs of 5.11 boots. While one of the more comfortable pair of boots right out of the box, they do not last long. I was also issued a pair of the 6" zipper boots. They have held up pretty well and, again, are extremely comfortable. I have hardly put them to the test, though.

With that being said, I doubt a "budget" 5.11 boot (as the Strikers are marketed) would last very long.

FWIW, I have found Botac to be ok if you speak with someone and ensure that the product that you are ordering is in stock, ready to ship. Otherwise, it could be back-ordered for 6 months and they will never tell you.

I always had bad experience with cheap boots.
But then again for a medium built guy they might be a great fit, while for a heavier framed man the same boots might turn out to be a disaster.
