    Duty gear vests

    Thought you guys might like to see the possible future of LE equipment carriage in Australia. Currently we are experiencing HEAPS of workers compensation claims due to the weight of the gun belt and its effect on you back.

    My department has been looking at a "Gel belt" that moulds to your shape and disperses the weight over a greater area than the old Sam Browne. A few other agencies are looking at these:

    My local PD is considering something like this, only also incorporating the bullet-resistant armor panels. Same reason, the lower back issues and sitting in and getting in and out of cars wearing all that stuff.
