Update on my Bates M9's. Holding up well after a years use. The zipper "handle" broke on one side. I took it to a shoe repair place and they put a new slide on for 7 bucks.

Playoffs?? Playoffs!!??? Don't talk about PLAYOFFS!!!??
We are issued the Danner boot, Chief model. Best boot I've ever had on my foot. An old trick for cowboy boots works well on any leather boot. Put them on, lace them like you would normally wear them, then soak them with water and wear them till they dry. Then you can start the polishing process.

I have a pair of Bates Enforcers with the side zip. Nice ankle support, very lightweight, comfy, and sharp looking. I did get a surface gouge in the toe leather early on, but it's held up well since.
I'll update to. Since we have to wear patent leather/clarino 'dress shoes': I used to wear what they issued in the military. Plain smooth sole shoes. I slipped in wet grass in those. I nearly slipped in the substation when the floor was wet. These were the standard no grip dress shoes. However I found these, and to date I haven't fallen in them yet.

I'm partial to the Rockys 911 in the winter and Bates Lites in the Summer.
I use the Lawpro tactical 4" boots as shoes, and for my uniform boot i have the LawPro 8" Tactical Uniform Boot. Love them both
I've got 2 pairs of Combat Assault Boots, they're military and current issue. They are as tough as you like. One pair has lasted 4 years of almost daily wear without needing any resoling and they've been in all kinds of conditions, always well protected and polished.
The other pair are parade polished and have only been worn a handful of times.
They take a bit of breaking in and a decent set of insoles works wonders but all in all they are really good.
I always wore the rocky 911. Last year i bought a 511 and was very pleased. I only got 11 months out of them But they are light, side zip, and did not take much to break them in. I actually wear ankle socks with them
I'm going to dig up an old thread just to say I got a pair of them Danner Acadia's and they's be's one of 'dem comfiest and sexiest boots I ever did wear.
Every now and then, I accidentally roll my ankle (stepping on uneven surfaces, running on lumpy fields, etc...). I figure that most of the quality boots out there are pretty supportive, but I have seen some that advertise extra ankle support. Have any of you tried these boots and do any of you have ankles that are susceptible to the dreaded "roll"? IMO, one of the worst pains there is.
