Asp 21"
Why are you buying a baton/what are you going to use it for?
What kind of baton are you looking at (straight, side handle, expandable straight, expandable side handle, etc)?
If expandable, what kind of "locking" style do you prefer?
Do you prefer a 1", 1 1/8", or 1 1/4" diameter handle?
What type of materials do you prefer (wood, steel, polycarbonate, etc)?
What kind of wrist/forearm strength do you have?
How much money do you want to spend?
I'm also looking for one. It's special. It's hollowed out and filled with lead. Then on the end it has 2" nails sticking out. :D
Be advised, I'm mean nasty and tired. I eat concertina wire and piss napalm and I could put a round through a fleas *** at 300 yards. So why don't you hump somebody else's leg mutt-face before I push yours in.
2" nails would be niceI would go with anything from ASP or Monadnock. Both have great reputations and both have great quality.
31" Asp. Never hit anyone with it in 10 years, when it replaced the PR-24. (flashlights, ticket holders, radios, rocks, a quart bottle of Schlitz, and a 36# hickory riot stick, but never the collapsing baton) but it sure gets attention when you open it.:D
Edited to add the Beretta 92 and a S@W model 66. They make FINE clubs.

True to a point. The clips do get out of alignment, sometimes you have to form them. But I've never heard of one breaking.
I've never had it not lock open. If that is happening you have probably bent it which is very hard to do with the asp. Or you didn't expand it properly.
Same goes for closing the baton. I have a rotating sidebreak holder. You can re-holster the baton in the open position if you choose to.
