For 80,000 dollars, I expect better than a 14.31 second quarter-mile time.
I like old-school muscle cars, and I could get a 1968, Plymouth S/S Barracuda w/ 426 Hemi V8 AND a 1968 Dodge S/S Hemi Dart w/ 426 Hemi V8 AND a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray w/ ZL1 427 V8, (or at least two of the three) nearly immaculate, and they all can do the quarter in under 11 seconds at about 130 MPH. They are also a lot more eyecatching than an overpowered Lancer.![]()
lol where do you get $80,000?Originally Posted by thelemite

We have an Intrepid. I hate it I hate it I hate it. The whole cab forward design thing sucks when your trying to get in/out - your gear gets caught making a fast exit difficult.

I was looking at a specific edition, maybe its an older/more expensive one.
(Still not impressed with the 13 second quarter at 106 MPH for 35K :-P )

I just don't like ricers, personal preference. Let's agree to disagree. The evo would certainly be easier to buy.

Ok, you got me those are way more powerful , but I dont know if the state would be nice enough to furnish one.
So if you want American Muscle that probably big enough how about the 2006 Dodge Charger ?

Plenty of space too![]()
While were on the topic, most departments that I know of drive American cars, usually Chevy or Ford. Since Chrysler is now technically a German company (or at least half German), why would the departments look at a Dodge? Just wondering.
Seeing as that appears to be an Aussie website, is that maybe Aussie dollars, too? Shouldn't make a huge difference, but it could account for a bit.Originally Posted by thelemite

The Dodge Stratus is the worst vehicle on the road next to the dodge neon and cars like hyundai. American cars are slipping fast to companies like Toyota and Honda. I know everyone seems to be "American-made only" in their minds, but if you look at the quality of a Honda or Nissan or Toyota compared to a piece of **** Chrysler, then you start to wonder what the hell engineers for American companies are thinking. If i become a police officer I hope to God we don't use any Chrysler products, Ford and GM are becoming bad enough. I am a proud American but I just don't understand how people can buy a $25,000 automobile that roughly lasts 100,000mi. and runs terrible, when you can buy a Honda that lasts 200,000mi. with very little problems. The Dodge Stratus is a nightmare and I feel bad for the guys that have to use them.
My sister had a Dodge neon that lasted 300,xxx miles on the orginal motor though the transmission left alot to be desired...
Our fleet manager is a racer and has a Dodge Neon. He has smoked Ferrari's with it. At one race he smoked a Dodge Viper and the owner came to his pit afterwards. The Viper owner outright bought the Neon so he couldn't get beat by it again.Originally Posted by FoodStampz
Of course it's a Neon in name only as it's been completely modified for racing. I doubt there's much stock anything in it anymore.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
I read in a mag somewhere that there is a special edition neon with 450HP!
I think only like 100 were made, but I am not 100% sure about that.
