I tried the starter ones on at walmart. They were loser (not tight) and appeared to be more comfortable and for $16 vs $25 for UA.

I work in a very hot and humid climate in a polyester uniform. I'm attempting to stay as cool as possible.

how well does UA work in the winter? I am tired of the bulky feel of my long underwear and hate wearing a jacket even though they provide us with nice leather coats here. Looking for a thin alternative that works.

In the winter I swear by the coldgrea. VERY WAR! Especially in the cold foot posts of NYC just off the water where the wind is incredible! My only complaint is that they fall apart (along seem lines) too soon. I usually get about a 1 winter out of them (3 pairs). I too wash after evry uses...you must since you sweat in them. This year I am goingto tryto wash them in a garment bag. My wife has them for her delicates so they don't get pulled. We will see how that helps/works.

I bought 3 of the UA shirts at $25 each, I am not that impressed with them, I'm taking 2 of them back that I have not wore yet.

Do you just have the regular long sleeve cold gear or the snowgear? Was looking at the UA website and trying to see what all they had. MC sports at the mall here carries them so will save me some shipping at least.

I like the UA shirts, but I think just about any of the major brands like Nike etc. make similar wicking shirts.
I have a North Face shirt that I wear that I like as much as my UA, but I actually think it may have been more expensive than UA when I bought it. I tend to buy the loose gear UA shirts, it seems like when I wear the tight ones my vest keeps creeping up during the shift everytime I sit down.

I have the UA long underwear. I used them in a ridealong one night when temps were at a breezy 30 degrees. I stayed very warm in them.

Believe it or not, during the summer I wear a sleeveless undershirt made by prospirit which I bought from Target for $9.99. They're made out of polyester. Compared to the cotton ones, they don't get soaked.

I bought a couple of the Starter turtlenecks and I really like them. When I have to replace T shirts I'm going to get the Starter ones also.

The only problem that I have with the Starter turtlenecks is that the material is so fine, that it can get caugh in the velcro of my vest.

I made the mistake of putting my vest and an underarmor shirt together with a few other darks in the washer.

I forgot to tack down the velcro straps and it snagged the hell out of my underarmour shirt!!! Still works and feels ok, just have nubbies all over the shirt.

A friend just told me about this stuff at target. Does it work like under armor?? Same properties?

I also wear sleeveless tee's in the summer....it is a pet peeve of mine to see a t shirt hanging out of the sleeves of an officer.
