    FBI New Agent Class

So, I read a few posts and I figure I better introduce myself before TXinvestigator drops the hammer on me ;-)! I have a few questions for you FBI folks with knowledge out there. But first, and without further ado, here's my story/intro.

Current FBI employee with a several years of experience (adjunct prof. and researcher: monoclonal antibody production.. bla, bla, bla bla.). Have two BS degrees and a Masters all in science (well part in sport psych and exercise phys). Have served as both a victim specialist and "G" with the BU. Passed phase II a few weeks ago, don't have to do a poly (just had a new one done about a year ago). Physical is scheduled tomorrow and PT next week. Expect a class start date of Sept or Oct. Ok, now that the warm and fuzzies are accounted for here are my questions I hope you guys can help me with.

    a. do any of you know the "feel" of new agents class... that is, I've been with the Marines (corpsman) and Army (counterintelligence agent) and know what boot camp/OCS is like. Would you say new agents class has the same feel or is it more relaxed/gentleman like? Are there boot camp like head games or is it more adult driven? Or do the head games last a few weeks and then relax? Speaking of head games, to bad the nixed TEVOC at new agents class huh?

    b. How many suites/sport coats should I bring to class with me?

    c. I have a pair of brown boots, as recommended by the NAT staff, but they are not the "suggested" brand (hitech). Will I get juiced over this, or are the head games not that bad?

    d. Rain/Cold weather gear: what should I bring in this light.... no real specifics from the staff... but I'm from the desert and Q in Oct, Nov, Dec, and Jan is bound the be chilly huh?

    e. Anything else you guys/gals could help with would be appreciated!

I deleted your cross post. It's generally not needed as this is still 'one' board, and everyone will see your thread, reguarless where it is most of the time. good luck, I can't help on your questions though.

    coffee,
The FBI Academy is tough but nothing like boot camp. There aren't really mind games at all. You are just under pressure for the academic and physical aspects of it. I'll let you in on a little secret. www.911jobforums.com/vB has a wealth of info on the FBI and the Academy. There are people who post there in the hiring process, at the academy, after the academy, current agents, etc. Run a search and you will get all the info you need and more. Plenty of people to answer questions there too.
    Good luck.

I agree on 911 jobs forum's site for info on the academy. There are several threads where people have talked about what it is like there now and other good advice.

Thanks everyone. Physical went well, had an abnormal EKG as the resting pulse was 49. Pretty normal for me, as I run a lot. I'll check out the 911 area. Again thanks for the input... helps me prepare a "focus" before I go. Very best.
