LAPD Reserve Level 3 Questions

Hey everyone. So today I was looking a little more into the LAPD Reserve. My knowledge about the LAPD Reserve is limited considering that I never really considered it too much until recently.
LAPD Reserve Level 3 is unarmed and they do duties such as front desk, community relations, and other support roles. I'm interested in this for now but fully plan on becoming a regular officer after I get my bachelors degree.
Is it easier to become a Level 3 Reserve officer than it is to become a regular officer? Also, is transitioning to normal officer easy to do if you serve as a reserve officer first?
