Hi Alucciano,
Are you coming down to take your written exam as well? When I took the written exam, it consisted of three essay questions (be prepared to write). Always have in the back of your mind scenarios that have to deal with sterotypes, how you helped someone, a time when you were first on the scene and how you responded. You are given 3 hours for the written exam so pace yourself and make sure you write details!! They are looking for this in your writing pattern as this is important for cops as we write lots of reports. The PT test consists of a stationary bike, a cable pull, and a side step test.
As for the best place to stay, I would recommend looking up online any close hotels to 700 E. Temple street where most of your testing should be. That is the LAPD personnel building.
As for other info that would be helpful to you- be confident. I would start writing out One major achievement, why you want to be a police officer, what steps have you taken to prepare yourself. Also- in the interview, they will give you a chance to finish up with a closing statement about yourself. Use this time to offer any feedback about yourself that you didn't already talk about in the interview. Any community service, information that you know about the LA department.... why you want to work for LA and not NY... etc.
I hope this helped... Good Luck to you and maybe we will work together someday!
