HELP!!!! 2000 Chevrolet Impala Interior lights

Hopefully someone can help me out. I just purchased a 2000 Impala 9C1 ghost car at an auction. Dark blue with blue interior. The interior lights do not come on when i open the doors. I called the police garage that serviced the vehicle and i was informed that they didn't disconnect anything , but rather they were already disabled from the factory. They didn't know what exactly was done at the factory as it was ordered that way. He seemed to think that a connector in the harness was disconnected, but didnt know where it was. Anyone out there know where this connection is or if there is something else that was done to prevent the interior lights from operating with the doors open. I can turn them on manually with the dash switch, and the door ajar light works. The connections inside the doors are good. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
