From Oklahoma County, OK Sheriff's office. I'm not talking just because it's a Camaro either. I love that scheme. Seriously where do I apply?

Yeah, but you sign up and then next thing you know you find out there's only one of those and only the sheriff gets to drive it. Now you find out that the green grass was actually astroturf and you're driving something like:

Great for traffic but crasp for anything else. That thing has small trucnk (little gear storage) and no backseat/cage, which is just not practical. In a day and age where we are pinching budgets, it is not a wise choice for a car with such a limited use. But it sure is pretty!

Looks like one of our DARE cars. Nice, except for the V-6. Our other DARE car, a Saturn Sky outruns to the V-6 Camero.
The NEW Camaro V6 knocks down 308 hp. Same with the NEW Mustang V6. The " curse " of the 6 cylinder in US made cars is disappearing.

While I agree with you Greg...those paying to fill the tank can always use a little help with their taxes.
The new Taurus V6 will outrun the current V8 Crown Vic , the turbo V6 will REALLY outrun the CV !!

The 4.6 liter is terrible in terms of power for a V8. My only guess as to why they never put a bigger engine in the CV is its effect on other parts of the car (handling, dependability, etc.). A V8 with under 300HP these days is a joke. Everyone always says, "Those police cars are fast aren't they?!?" I always answer, "Not really."
They are fairly dependable and have decent room, but I don't feel performance was the priority. Then again who needs it when you have a radio?
If I'm not mistaken, the V6 Impala had comparable numbers to the CV, it's just the FWD in the Impala does not work.

Can't beat mine!
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

They made a 3 valve version of the 4.6 which put down 300 hp. Why it didn't get into the CV I'll never know. The CV was a good all around car. OK off the line performance and would do 130 on the top end.
Of all of the cruisers that I have had in the last 25 years , my favorite is still the LT-1 Caprice. My longest pursuit was in that car 33 miles in 19 mins. And I got the bad guy in the end

Department has purchased 2 2011 Chevy Caprices 6.0L. We don't have our own cars so I will be driving one or both in the near future.

That's a nice looking car! Is it going to be a slicktop or have the lights not been added yet?
