Police Cars - a set on Flickr
This is one of the cars our dept has decided is worthy of driving...worst cop car ever!!!

It is a Toyota Aurion. 6cyl, with heaps of go, however, front wheel drive, and the "traction control" does not....You can not take off from a standing start with the slightest of heavy foot on the accelerator without excessive wheel spin. And don't even bother try and take off from a standing start and turn the wheel and give it a little bit of throttle...the torque steering will put you either into oncoming traffic or into someone's front yard.
The seats are quite sporty, which is probably very good if driven off duty, however with a gun belt on, it means that your hips are being shoved in all sorts of angles that are not natural.
Then there is the limited room in the front. One of the taller guys at my old station wont drive them as he just can't fit in them comfortably. And the back seat is a joke. If you have the screen fitted, which most do, then hopefully you don't have legs if you want to sit in the back for any reason. My old partner and I locked up two rather large lads, and had trouble getting the biggest out of the back seat. His hands were cuffed to the rear and we just couldn't get him out....and he was compliant!!!
Then there is the issue of the side curtain air bags. The morons that be, will not disable them, so the barrier can't go right to the edges as the air bag will hit it!!!! So there is a gap that the bad guy can reach around if they want to.
Every thing is electric and beeps. You stop the car, get out, and lock it, and the car beeps and flashes it's indicators. Excellent when sneaking up on a house...NOT!
The list of things that make this car a joke as a police car, are endless.
