(For LEOs) Post a pic of your police car

I don't know if there may be any rules, possibly in your dept, against posting pictures, but I would be interested in seeing pictures of you (or not) standing near your police car. I am highly interested in law enforcement, and some of my teenaged excitement in LE is seeing police cars. It's kind of a fetish.

No google images pics either. I just want real LEOs, or even security officers to post pictures of the vehicle they use in every day use. Motorcycles, Crown Vics, Impalas, etc, I would be highly interested in seeing what your department uses.

My local PD uses Impalas. I've ridden in one once (to an explorer hosted Pacers game) and it drove smoothly, but I've heard the car kinda sucks. But it seems to be taking on the Crown Victoria, and the Charger is slowly becoming popular.

Plus, are the marked Impalas with the lightbar any different than the one's made to look like a normal car? One of my explorer advisors drives a dark blue Impala, the other rides in a white one with a lightbar on the top. Just wondering.

    Thanks. Danke. Gracias.

Ahh, thanks for the link. I must have been too lazy to look or I missed it. Thanks!

Lacey, is that for police explorers? So, of course if you have a d/l, you can eventually drive a cop car? Hmm.

    Drum,

Yes, that car is for the police explorers. If you have a drivers license, you get to drive that car. It is a rare occurance you drive a normal marked unit, especially if this car is available for use.

That's cool. I didn't think they'd give explorers a police car.... What do you guys use it for?

I'm "in training" to be an explorer, and the only things we do are security at festivals and parades. I would be lucky to use the department golf cart with the strobes.

So what's the point of even having a lightbar? Is it just for training scenarios? Or can it be used at a community event where you need to block off a certain area, and your advisor told you to?
Confusing. I shouldn't even be worrying about it, but I am just wondering.

Ahh, nice APC. My department isn't really high risk, the ERT just has an old delivery type truck with a fence looking ram on the front. I've never seen it out of the headquarter's parking lot, though.
The Paddy Wagon is old too. We once took a field trip to the dispatch center, which oddly, is in the middle of some neighborhood. That thing STUNK.

The lightbar is used for pretty much those very reasons. During training it is used the same way a red/blue one would be. They use it for traffic control, visibility, etc... No, it is not for running lights and sirens or stopping a vehicle.

Because then it would be a more verified picture that you didn't just go to images.google.com and type in "police car". Plus, I think uniforms look cool. That's why.
