If it was SPD, I think they still have that van. I remember going to the Apple Cup a couple years back and an SPD Explorer backed over a parked car w/ it... got out and looked, then drove away.. we all stood there like, "Did he just commit a hit and run?!" :D Our advisor (Coincidentally he started his LE career in Seattle) talked to him, but I dont know what actions were taken.

Rest in peace.
Yep, SPD. That explorer sure is bright. They should never let someone with little or no experience driving a van of that size behind the wheel  They were talking about painting it, black/white, but looks like that didn't happen. Found this pic on wleea.org.

Interesting.
Hey Norm, did you go to Clayton for acadmey training? I will take pics of our chargers that we use for Patrol & maybe some H.E.A.T cars.
He's a car we had last year for the 2006 Commonwealth Games held in Melbourne. It's a GM Holden Monaro, sold in the US as a Pontiac GTO
Pontiac GTO with Australian flag

We have had specially marked Highway Patrol cars for the past few years ~ our Dept calls them S.M.A.R.T. cars. Special Mobile Anti-Road Toll car ~ hey, I didn't come up with the name!! Most years they have been GM Commodore SS V8s

2004
2005 ~ Ford XR8
2006
Here's a pic of a 2000 P71 that I sometimes drove during shift. My wife gave me a model (with correct markings) of it for Christmas a few years back.

I'll have to find a pic of the local 2001 camaro we have here in Little Rock. I have it somewhere. It's the fastest one we have besides the new chargers.
My explorer post has 2 vehicles, both unmarked at the moment, though since I started there has been talk of striping them...

'98 - Ford Passenger Van
Im in the same explorers post as lcsoman0117 and we were at a states meeting a couple months back and almost every post had a van with markings and light bars. I thought it was dumb to go through all that trouble, but hey it was interesting seeing how other posts get the job done.
