    Compression clothing

I've seen claims from some makers of compression clothing for running, etc. that the garments reduce lactic acid buildup, improve recovery time, reduce fatigue, etc.

Any truth to these claims? I for one HATE tight-fitting clothing, and the one Under Armour style compression shirt I have just makes me feel like an overgrown sausage. (They really aren't for people who have any excess body fat anywhere, are they? :eek

I'd hate to spend $100 on a gimmick.

I've got a few, but the only useful purpose that I can vouch for is they are good for layering up.

I highly doubt that they can reduce lactic acid. But they do make some good clothing for running. The cold gear keeps you very warm with minimum bulk. And the heat gear works pretty well when it is really hot.

The whole lactic acid thing seems like a bs. Thats not half as bad as the claims that a lot of supplement companies make. Get one of those muscle magazines and read some of the adds. That stuff is absurd. Google "The Strap" by Fizogen if you want to laugh. I actually saw someone wearing one at the gym once.

I used to say I couldn't stand tight clothing, but went ahead and got a few compression shirts and really like them. I mostly wear them for layering and they make a big difference, beats a T-Shirt.
Also a hunting Magazine I was reading had an artical on them and said that the Under Armor was made to replace wool, I like that part. Also an officer in our PD got some for Chrilstmas and he loves them, says he hates the cost but they are worth it.
    Hope tht helps
