    Being Stuck In Doors

I am moving to Oregon, and its already raining and snowing there. Since I am only 17, and can't drive what are some ways to stay inside but yet not let go of my fitness goals? And secondly, what's the best way that you know of to trim down, and become leaner, without spending a bunch of money? Thank you.

    mom said no to driving

I can't drive because my mother says that I must wait until I am out of the house and on my own, and can afford it myself.

Awww I'm sorry....Remember practice makes perfect You don't want to be 20 years old not having no clue how to drive. It's none of my business tho good luck to you!!!!! :D O'BTW the schools usally have drivers training. It's the car and insurance you'll have to buy.

    costs

I checked with the school already and they don't offer it, but say that you can pay close to 350 dollars for some training.

Yeah...Some schools do and some don't. I took mine at SEARS for $450. Trust me $350 is nothing compared to getting out on the street and not knowing nadda. Ask your Mom if she would be okay with you taking drivers training. If she says yes well enroll in the class.......trust me it is worth every penny. Prepare for your future good luck:D Plus you have to be a good driver to become a Police Officer.

GOOGLE "Fitdeck". You can buy them from their site, from Amazon or numerous other sites.

Will cost you about $20, with shipping and handling. You can get an entire full body workout, with nothing more than your own body weight.

Another thing you can try is circuits of calisthenics. They require no equipment and can be done indoors. Try something like this:

    40 push ups
    40 squat thrusts
    40 leg raises
40 jumpies (bend your legs into a squat position and then jump up into the air)
10 pull ups (if you have a pull up bar)
    40 crunches

That is one set. Go straight from one exercise to the next without rest to get some cardio benefit as well. After you finish one set, rest for a minute or two and start another set. Start with 3 sets and work to 4 and then 5 sets. You can alter the number of reps, the order of the exercises, or the number of exercises as desired. If you are not already in moderate shape, you may want to start with 20 or 30 reps on each exercise.

Iron Gym or some other cantilever pull-up bar. Best 30 bucks you'll ever spend. Provided your door frames are strong enough and don't break.

Best way to get leaner is to work on what goes into your mouth. But a close second is strapping on a pair of running shoes and going out your front door. No driving necessary.

As far as the weather? I grew up in Seattle, and you can go outside. Just make sure you have some light rain running gear, and then have a glass of cement and harden up. You won't melt with the sort of light rain you get constantly in the Northwest.
You've had your whole life to prepare for this moment. Why aren't you ready?

14 is pretty young as far as lifting weights and what not, you don't want to mess with the natural development of your growth plates which aren't done developing. I'm not going to tell you what to do or not to do, but for someone who is 14, I would seek some professional advice as far as what exercises to do that won't jeopardize future growth development, which doesn't include a message board.
