Supplements are not needed if you are getting an adequate diet. I just took a sports nutrition class and have notes on recommendations of carbs, protein, water, etc for each body weight.

    I benched 335, military pressed 235, and can curl 70lb dumbbells. And two days ago, I did 46 pullups. I'm 5'9" 160lbs. I don't use supplements.

Big if. I am 170lbs and would be eating chicken breasts all day if I tried to get my protein intake from food sources only. Supplements are an excellent way to get the necessary nutrition when stuffing yourself with chicken just isn't feasible. I guess you spend your entire day eating various fruits and vegetables too instead of taking a multivitamin, right?

I highly recommend anyone who lifts weights and wants to build muscle to take a multivitamin (centrum at a bare minimum), fish oil, and a low carb protein. I personally use ON 100% Whey. It tastes alright and has the nutritional profile that suits me.
