Need advice on Cooper PAT exam preperation for NYS Agencies!!

I have a few agilities coming up that reuqire you to complete the Cooper standards at 50 percentile which is if you're 20-29 38 situps in 1 minute, 29 pushups(no time limit) and a 1.5 mile run in 12:29. The only problem I have is that RUN. I want to improve my time which is 13.20 right now. I have a rigorous weight training regiment that I follow. Do you think I should lay off the weights and my running might get better??? I also workout my legs hard to parrel sqauts, leg curls, calf press etc...
    Somebody help lol...

Only one thing will improve you run time: RUNNING!

Skip the weights for now. All you need to do to stay in shape for an academy is run, push-up, sit-up, stretch, pull-ups and bench press.
-In God we trust. All others, put your hands on the car and don't move.
