Nope... genetics causes people to gain/carry the weight the way they do. Stress may cause you to eat, though.

I keep at it now because I enjoy it; it's like some deranged sick addiction. :p
If that's for selfish reasons, then add me to the list. I do it to live; because I want to see my 4 year old daughter grow up and grow old. I do it because I want to be around.
Exercise alone will not change everything. You need to look at your eating habits. Like mcsap said, get rid of all the junk. You don't have to completely eliminate it totally, but cut it so far back that you rarely eat it. I cut almost all soda out and I rarely to never eat fast food. It made a huge difference and even now I can barely finish a can of soda.
You aren't kidding. :p I know I'll munch a lot more when I'm stressed.Course, the more I stress the more I'll force myself to work-out and harder too. :D

Yeah, I think diet kills as many cops as bullets and cars. I refused to eat fast food and went inside a reguar resturant and ate a decent meal. I hated bringing my lunch and it was worth the money to buy something good. Besides, usually in a nice place, people didn't bother me as much as I was eating. My primary vice was coffee and iced tea, I drank and still drink both, but a lot less than I used to.
And I agree again, exercise was a great stress reliever. I never liked running much or doing much outside (I live in Oregon, it rains a lot) but I did a lot of rowing machine and later stair stepper after they came out.
My biggest problem now is that I got lung damage from working drug labs 20 years ago pre protective gear. Aerobic stuff is real limited, but I do what I can. I have my own stationary bike and some light weights at home that I use. Because I really can't dump stress with exercise anymore I really have to stay out of the kitchen! But I still have to make it a regular routine or I'm afraid I'll start finding reasons to skip it.
Good luck in your career, my daughters are 35 and 33 now!:D
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine
