Nike Plus Runners: Anyone up for a Challenge

If you are a member of the Nike Plus site, I just signed up for the Challenge titled "Easy to Win, Great to Play" group. The Challenge starts on November 8, at 6:00 PM. Basically, whoever runs the most miles in 30 days wins the challenge. Obviously I am running under the name of Nole795.

For those of you totally confused with this post, Nike has a sensor and kit module that you put on your IPOD Nano that records your run speed and distance. It downloads it automatically to the Nike website where you can track your progress.

Here is the site if anyone is interested...I need to keep in shape as the holiday approaches.

May I have someone run for me?

That's what I was wondering. Fasten the device(s) to a wild and crazy neighborhood dog (not a lazy neighborhood dog) and rack up the miles.

Seriously, sounds pretty cool, Nole. If I had the device(s) I'd do it. I regularly run 3 to 5 miles a day 6 days a week but I would be willing to up the mileage for the contest. Anyway, good luck, Nole.

I would just glue it to my car's front.

You would kill me then if you signed up. I am happy doing 3 mile runs, three times a week.

And for all you cheaters, you need to buy Nike Plus Shoes. It has a compartment for you to put the sensor in for it to work. So no attaching to dogs, cars, airplanes, etc...

But you do get an "A" for effort...:D

    Nike Shox

I've had a Nano and a pair of Nike Shox for about 6 months now and didn't even realize this feature existed. My fiance bought it and I am trying hers out when I do my run later tonight. Sounds like a cool little toy.

I was so excited about this setup when it first came out, but of course Nikes never have fit me comfortably so I definitely wasn't shelling out $100+ for some shoes that didn't fit right. Is there a way to fasten this device into my trusty Sauconys? :D

ya when i first started i didnt have my nike shox like i do now... I took some leather and made a little pouch for the sensor to fit in and laced the pouch into my shoe laces... it didnt look awesome but it worked for the time... it may not be 100% accurate but its better than nothing

Well so far I am #17 out of 28 contestants. I have ran over 21 miles so far. Not bad for a guy who hates running.

When I started out I was running about 2 miles. Now I am at 4.5 miles every other day.

This Nike Challenge really helped me to keep up the work.

I dont own an Ipod and I am not paying 100 bucks for new shoes when my current ones are still in good shape. I just keep track of my miles on my sig line and on a calendar. You know..writing them down ??!!!

Just wanted to relish in the glory that I have passed the 200 mile mark on my Nike Plus. I am up to 4 1/2 mile runs. I am still a little slow averaging about 12 minute miles but I can go further then I have ever had before. I have been doing some circuit training to help me speed up my average.

I love this IPOD Nike Plus stuff...
